Florian Willeitner (*1991 in Passau) is an award-winning german violinist, composer and arranger and founder of the artistic collective Pool of Invention. He is a 2nd prize winner at the International Seifert Competition 2016, his works are performed at prestigious halls and festivals (e.g. Musikverein Vienna, Festspielhaus Salzburg, Berlin Philharmonie, Bachfest Stuttgart, ClassicalNEXT Rotterdam 2016, Beethovenfestival Bonn, Al Bustan Festival Beirut) and receive great reviews worldwide („Downbeat Magazine“, „Stuttgarter Nachrichten“, „crescendo“, „London Jazz News“). He wrote for famous orchestras and soloists such as Benjamin Schmid, Georg Breinschmid, Andreas Hofmeir or the Tonkünstlerorchester Vienna and is frequently performing with his various groups both at classical and jazz festivals throughout the globe.

Florian has a keen interest in exploring the various world folk music and incorporating it in his own work both as a composer and a violinist. To achieve this, he travels a lot to encounter local people in their countries and learn from them (e.g. Ireland, France, USA, Cuba, Bulgaria, Brazil). In November 2017 he received his Master’s degree (classical violin) with honors (Prof. Benjamin Schmid, University Mozarteum Salzburg).
