BIG NEWS: Florian Willeitner wins 2nd prize ex aequo at the International Zbigniew Seifert Competition 2016
Florian Willeitner has won the 2nd prize ex aequo at the International Zbigniew Seifert Competition 2016, which is one of the biggest gatherings of jazz strings players and composers of the world.
Here the official statement of Florian on facebook:
I am incredibly happy and honored to have won the 2nd prize of the International Zbigniew Seifert Competition 2016 in Krakow, Poland, ex aequo with violinist Apel-les Carod Requesens from Spain.
My heartfelt congratulations to my dear friends Mateusz Smoczyński from Poland (1st prize) and Mario Forte from New York (3rd prize).
You guys are fantastic musicians and great people, and I feel deeply honored to be part of this group!
A big thank you to Pawel Kaczmarczyk’s mindblowing Audiofeeling Trio who made the performances of the semifinals and finals beeing great fun!
A big thank you to Aneta Norek and the Seifert Team who did an incredible job making all the organizational things work perfectly!
And last but not least, a big thank you to all my musician friends who are working with me since a very long time and who are my daily inspiration to keep on searching for the beauty in this incredible form of art called music.
